To observe International Human Rights Day,  Legal Forum for Kashmir – LFK is organizing a Colloquium on the UN designated 2021 theme: “Equality.” Every year on the 10th of December United Nations observes Human Rights Day as per the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) adopted by UNGA.

“All Human, All Equal”, the slogan for this year’s Human Rights Day, is a reflection of Article 1 of the UDHR – “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”

Hence, the underlining objectives of this colloquium are to analyze the situation of gross human rights violations in Palestine and the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and the role of the international community. The biased behaviour of the International Community and UN towards these two protracted conflicts is itself a considerable question. Are the residents of Palestine and Kashmir are not fulfilling the very definition of the word “Human”, or they are children of a lesser god.

Humanity with this hypocritic approach is losing its essence. All Human, All Equal – is not for the developed or affluent world; however, the horizon of humanity is beyond the west and its allies. People of Kashmir and Palestine are suffering at the hands of occupiers; children without a childhood, half orphans, half-widows, rape, mass graves, arbitrary detention, encounters, and extra-judicial killings – is this what equality is?
